George Jackson – One More Hurt b/w Back In Your Arms & Hold That Feeling – Hit & Run UK 7″

Hit And Run maestro Garry J. Cape tells us that, being on one of his trips to the Southern States of USA, something he’s been doing since the 1970s, he stumbled across a tape some 20 years ago which was marked ‘For Dorothy’ (i.e. Dorothy Moore). As we know, so many of these so very good ‘Real Soul’ recordings did not get released due to the social environment over there in America where the music made by the ‘under-ruled class’ mostly got copied and stolen with so many productions not seeing the light of release.

And at that time Garry wasn’t able to license these songs, so he took a backup and stored it and over time it became possible to license these tracks we offer you the unique chance to own on a vinyl record here.

‘One More Hurt’ was recorded at Fame in 1973 by Candi Station, which also stayed unreleased until it got discovered later and released by Kent on compilations and a limited vinyl 45 along with another unreleased George Jackson song on the flip titled ‘Do Right Woman’.

Being the original writer George Jackson’s demo of high quality in production, Garry thought it’d be the right time to unleash it now in 2023 along with two other demos of Deep Soul cuts on the flip, which have previously escaped any public exposure.
