*JUST IN!* Sharon McMahan – Do I Deserve It Baby b/w When Will Love Come To Me – Hit & Run UK 7″

Two great previouly unreleased soulful tunes b y Sharon McMahan out for the first time on a limited 45:

A side – one that Ollie McLaughlin asked her to lay down a guide vocal, over a pre-recorded Don Davis backing track, to coach Barbara Lewis. Popcorn Wylie heard Sharon’s version and told Ollie he should release it on her, Ollie decided he didn’t want Sharon out on the road – so it laid in the can since 1969 UNTIL NOW!

B side – a full session affair with Bobby Martin strings overlaid, destined for a 1973 album that was the victim of an executive shuffle at Columbia although one excellent 45 was salvaged. This track lay there for 50 years – initial reaction has been overwhelming.

Two really great and unreleased sides, from initial reactions it feels like this is going to fly out, only 400 copies pressed, so don’t delay on this one!
