Split Decision Band – You’re The One b/w My Love Just For You – Soul Direction UK 7″

New 7″ by “The Split Decision Band”, an obscure R&B group from Des Moines, Iowa, who only released one single during their existence, which sells for a high price amongst collectors.

Between 1979-1984 they had recording sessions at an unknown studio or possibly the house of Gordon Starr Flipping, who was a core member of the group, resulting in an album they wanted to call “A Thing Of Our Own”.

Unfortunately, the album never got released, but luckily former “Stones Throw” general manager Egon’s label “Now-Again Records” found the recordings and pressed them for the first time.

Two tracks from that LP, “You’re The One” and “My Love Just For You” are featured on this 7″, the first song being a funky disco-mover while the b-side provides more of a slow and romantic vibe, but still stomps.
