Garland Green – Jealous Kind Of Fella – Uni LP

A timeless masterpiece of a Soul album everybody who likes this kinda music even only a little should rate as a piece of great quality music. In difference to so many other albums of the time where often the ‘big’ well known chart classics got covered to make the record buyer spending his money on the album this album doesn’t repeat this formular and manages to impresses with the originality of each song. Most of them were written by the genius of Joshie Jo Armstead who perfectly understood Garland’s vocal abilities with the result being all quality pure Soul tracks also non-Soul heads should find at least as good as the few common greatest-hits Motown etc. tunes they might have heard on the commercial radio. It’s smooth and on some tunes punchy aswell at the same time, including classic Northern Soul dancers and some more ‘listening tunes’ aswell making this album a perfect way to spend an afternoon to create happiness by listening to it.

This is a vintage Canadian pressing with a little bit of mild background noise on one side and the cover showing some wear and having a 1/4″ punch hole being in great shape 50+ years after it got made.

Barney Hayes, KWK Radio (which must have been a station in Chicago late 1960s) states on the backside of the album cover ‘GARLAND is Soul function, Dynamite, Electrifying, Beautiful and too much.’
