Record Shack T-Shirts are back! …now shortly before Christmas with 4 designs on that smart’n’stylish ‘Record Shack Soulwear’ brand. 

Why ‘Austro Soul‘? To us the idea to create this term for a musical genre seems to be logical when we as ‘Soul Music’ deejays, producers, sellers and above all Soul nusic ‘lovers’ wanted to distance ourselves from most popular music over here, and not because we would want to slag it off or so. Some vintage ‘Austro Pop’ Recordings might have a few touching points with the soulful stuff, but without branding as hat they are (Soul) our tunes might fall into the ‘common’ local Pop swamp, something we want to avoid.

That’s why we are of course EXTRA HAPPY if you like the idea of ‘AUSTRO SOUL‘, and the music aswell of course, if you want to hear some examples please look at our current Stefanie/ORF Big Band Deluxe double vinyl 7″ release or the 50tiest Record Shack single released already some years back, the KILLER Northern Soul bomb ‘A Love I Believe In‘ with Vienna’s Queen of Soul, the marvelous Betty Semper on vocals. Both are real WINNERS which got massive plays on UK’s BBC6 Craig Charles weekly Soulshow which made us quite pround, and to present then there as ‘Austro Pop’ could only have given us some cold shivers.

The ‘AUSTRO SOUL‘ logo was designed by Manchester’s both highly gifted/creative and at the same time very accurate top of the league graphical artist & strategical big brand campaign designer Charles Wythe and we LOVE IT!
