A floorfiller at continental events such as Vienna’s Sound Of Soul and played in the 90s as an ender at the legendary 100s Club Rare Soul allnighters it’s easy to hear why – it’s the sort of anthemic emotion-filled tune that’s just perfect to greet a new day after a night danced through. The flipside features another gem in the form of one of the great beat ballads addressing the plight of the Black US soldiers who were sent to Vietnam as cannon fodder and which became massively popular among the GIs stationed there and their loved ones back home.
