George Alexander is a loose studio project by 100% full time musician and producer George `Guru´ Hübner (ex St Marx & indie popsters The O5, mastermind of jazz/swing outfit Billy Rubin Trio, producer of Plexus Solair & No Head On My Shoulder etc.) and Vienna’s Techno/House legend Alexander ‘Dj LX` Harasek.

Guru and LX aka Soulbrother LX (now back to his Northern Soul roots) know each other from their band days with Austrian Indie popsters The O5. Jamming around at the studio last year the two decided to team up for a Soulful House`band´.

They were supported by US soulsinger Big John Whitfield (who worked together with a lot of big names like David Morales), Hans Zinkl – piano and Stoney The Flute, guess, on flute.

The result is a stunning version of Joe Smooths `89 Garage House classic Promised Land.

A brilliant piece of music for the open minded Modern/Northern Soul/House dancers and deejays, the tune was played from white label test press 45 the last couple of months at at the legendary SoS underground Soul nights and Jörg Recordshack’s weekly Tighten Up nite here in Vienna and turned into a late night/early morning dancefloor smasher the crowd has been beggin’ for every time.

The record is distributed by Austria’s number one black music outlet/distro ‘Record Shack’ being its first official new release and hopefully not the last!!!
