Newby & Johnson – Sweet Happiness b/w I Want To Give You My Everything – Mercury UK 7″

Forgotten tune recorded in 1970, a big classic on the earlier 70s UK Northern Soul scene and looking back now, also a classic over here when we started with regular Soul niters somewhen early 90s. ‘Sweet Happiness’ stood up to it’s title and created exactly this back then. After getting ‘overplayed’, then somehow forgotten it can give a bit of ‘freshness’ nowadays. This is a UK press from a few years after it’s first US release in 1970, a vintage UK release from 1973 that’s not around much anymore.
