A live painting was made on stage in real time by Oscar Romp last week at our recent SOUND of SOUL allnighter at Vienna’s No.1 Jazz venue Porgy & Bess.

He has captured the vibe of the dramatically-lit circular atrium of the venue, and begun to fashion the moving figures below, as they in turn create the dance-floor ‘Action’ that makes the SOS Vienna events so alluring. The completion of the original work will be done this week in Oscar’s UK studio, with further resolution of the dancers, additional colour layering and fine adjustments.

But That’s not all!

In response to numerous enquiries from SoS guests, these Ltd Edition prints will then be made individually by the artist in his in-house print room.

Commissioned specially by Recordshack, the Maestro will make this super-limited edition of 25 hand-numbered A4 high-quality prints, – but with a difference.

Each of the prints will be individually hand-finished in artist’s pastel.

This will make each one a unique, individual art-object!

Colour matched to the original artwork, and individually printed by the artist, – as described above, – on archival 350gsm cotton rag etching paper, using colour-fast pigment inks. A certificate of provenance is supplied with each print.

The original pastel work was drawn live on location at The SoS Northern Soul Allnighter at Porgy And Bess, Wien, 28th January 2023.
