Richard Marks – very much a cult hero on the Funk collector scene, here with his great 1976 version of a track we know as by Bill Wright, now sounds a Crossover winner and a pretty tough find 45 these days.
The flip here is possibly one of the greatest Deep Soul couplings ever released, Hit&Run found it impossible to choose which side to include so owner Garry Cape decided to go for both.
Originally on Note and recorded in Birmingham Alabama in 1974, this really is top-drawer Southern Soul!
