*JUST IN!* The Modettes – I Won’t Be Such A Fool Anymore b/w The Shaladons – Showdown – Kent Deep Soul UK 7″

Kent’s Deep Soul 017 release was originally scheduled for 2023 but was pulled when the titles were incorporated into another project, but now they’ve chosen two ballads from the GWP stable to fill the gap that has frustrated more than a few collectors.

The top side is from the unknown group the Modettes who were a George Kerr produced group with an exceptional lead singer.The unknown lady lets her emotions run loose, bemoaning the ill-advisedness of her recent relationship.

The Shaladons are another mystery entity who recorded three excellent songs for Larry Banks at GWP productions, before that label was launched. It is a great sweet soul group interpretation of the Larry Banks’ song ‘Showdown’ that was a highlight of the first “Dave Godin’s Deep Soul Treasures” album.
