Little Willie John – Free At Last – Gusto 2LP

Totally great vintage US compilation from 1979 containing 23 tunes recorded by this major R’n’B/early Soul artist showing that Black American Rhythm’N’Blues and Soul music is the major ‘building block’ of contemporary popular music. Including Little Willie’s 1956 original of one of the most covered songs of all time, the well known song ‘Fever’ which became the ‘big hit’ when done by white singer Peggy Lee in 1958.
