War’s a terrible thing, but an least it can move artists as great as Lamont Butler to put his voice onto wax.
And here it is, Ungodly War… a stand out TUNE taken from Lamont’s one and only album It’s Time For A Change from 1981 which recently got reissued on the alltime ecclectic Acid Jazz label from UK.
Infused with Jazz, Soul and Funk, Ungodly War is a dynamic track recorded some 40+ years ago in Louisville, Kentucky.
“People have always loved Ungodly War, people would always want to talk to me about it and you know it’s more relevant now than ever before… it’s stood the test of time,” Mr Butler stated on his classic standout track.
For this Miles Away release, label owner, good friend of Recordshack and all-round good egg, Eddie Piller, enlisted the expertise of Scottish Northern-Disco man Al Kent to ‘pimp’ the track in sublime and highly effective way through his editing.
Retaining that authentic sound of the original, Kent’s enhancing of the percussion and subtle restructuring of elements have resulted in an exemplary 7″ dancefloor bomb.
On the flip is a deep cut Get Up And Praise The Lord, which features on the album and was a track many a DJ reached for.
It seems that Eddie likely must have forked out a small fortune to secure the licence, and produce and press this soulful funky ‘A Million Dollar Disco’ masterpiece.
So as all this effort has been made to give You the opportunity to easily purchase this masterpiece for seriously worthwhile price we might suggest to get your orders in right away because this 7″ is guaranteed to sell out in no time!
Wishing you a fantastic weekend.
Peace!
