Dave Crawford – Praying For Rain To Come b/w Jeannie Trevor – Tinklin’ Bells – Kent Select 7″

New York indie label Brent released only the occasional soul side but the company’s tape vaults have yielded black music gold, the A-side here was scheduled to be the flip of his ‘Millionaire’ 45 but that record seems to exist only as double A-sided demos, it is a standout track with a very unusual structure and features an awesome girl group b/w Jazz singer Jeannie Trevor’s tough version of Johnny Payne’s Popcorn biggie which is sure to be popular with DJs on the R&B circuit, both available here on a strictly limited ‘Select’ edition
